As part of this year's Creativity & Wellbeing Week (16-22 May 2022), Vikki Parker (artist, mental health advocate and South East LENs Champion) will be organising and curating a Brighton programme of events to showcase freelance practitioners, arts and cultural organisations / social prescribing initiatives that support creativity/culture, health and wellbeing in the area.
This will be the 4th year of Vikki leading on this for her local community. With the support of CHWA, she is extending the reach of focus this year by creating a special blog, Creativity and Wellbeing Week Spotlight: South East, to promote work happening across the region.
Vikki shares,
" It's such an exciting opportunity to share work, especially for freelancers who do not operate with funding, and also to expand awareness to the wider community about the excellent support available for wellbeing through arts.
I started with a small group of fellow practitioners in the first year and we just had fun and celebrated the work. It has since grown but you don't need to be ambitious about it. "
