A few of the funders you might want to explore are below, but we recommend starting with the more comprehensive and regularly updated resources from Esmée Fairbairn and Creative Lives, above.

Please also check in your own area for local sources of funding. If you're not sure where to start, try contacting your local council, who may have funding opportunities themselves, or be able to direct you to them. You could also try your local community and voluntary service. A directory of these is here, via the NAVCA website.

Trusts and Foundations

Arts Council England

ACE provides everything from project grants to core funding through its National Portfolio. Their new strategy, Let's Create, places emphasis on heath and wellbeing and in July 2022 ACE published a new Creative Health & Wellbeing Plan.

Esme Fairbairn Foundation

One of the largest arts and heritage funders in the UK.

The Peter De Haan Charitable Trust

Grants awarded to organisations that provide opportunities to take part in the arts in educational and community settings, especially for people or groups with limited access to the arts.

The Baring Foundation

The foundation is currently investing in the arts and mental health over ten years.

The Clore Duffield Foundation

The foundation concentrates its support on education, the arts, museum and gallery education, health, social care and disability.

The Foyle Foundation

An independent trust that gives grants to UK charities whose main work is in the areas of learning, art and health. Its priorities are to help make the arts more accessible by developing new audiences, supporting tours, festivals and arts education projects, encouraging new work, and supporting young and emerging artists.

The Paul Hamlyn Foundation

The arts programme encourages new ways for people in the UK to enjoy, experience and be involved in the arts. Funding benefits organisations and groups through the grants scheme and special projects.

MRNING People Fund

MØRNING, have just relaunched their People Fund, a quarterly grant for artists, creatives, dreamers and innovators, designed to fuel boundary-pushing work.

National Lottery Heritage Fund

The National Lottery Heritage Fund has committed to supporting health and wellbeing in its 2023-6 strategy.

Youth Music

Funding for music making projects or to create career progression opportunities in music.
