Climate, creativity and health: Policies and commitments
The Pact along with its annexes, the Global Digital Compact and the Declaration on Future Generations, was adopted by consensus by the UN General Assembly in September 2024.
A European Court ruling that means governments must take concrete steps to tackle the climate crisis and set out credible targets to reach net zero.
In 2021 the UK's Culture Minister joined other G20 Culture Ministers by adopting the Rome Declaration, focusing on five priorities:
- The protection of cultural heritage and tackling illicit trafficking;
- Addressing the climate crisis through culture;
- Building capacity through training and education;
- Digital transition and new technologies for culture; and
- Creative industries as drivers for sustainable and balanced growth.
To understand how and when the NHS can reach net zero, Greener NHS established a NHS Net Zero Expert Panel, reviewed nearly 600 pieces of evidence submitted to us and conducted extensive analysis and modelling.
Environmental Responsibility is one of four "Investment Principles" that will guide how ACE distributes its funding from 2022 onwards.
Adopted by the United Nations in 2015, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals recognise that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.

to increase EU GDP by an additional 0.5% by 2030 creating around 700,000 new jobs."
The framework aims to "create a more successful country" and connects wellbeing with sustainability, including the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
