We particularly want to encourage applications from people identifying with any of the protected characteristics as defined in the 2010 Equality Act, or who are from less affluent socioeconomic backgrounds.
Purpose
The Culture, Health & Wellbeing Alliance (CHWA) and Group for Education in Museums (GEM)
are looking for a film maker to produce an inspiring and accessible short film and a series of
shorter ‘vox pops’ which document learning from our Working Together Project.
The film and vox pops will highlight key learnings, personal stories, and the unique
contributions of individuals and organisations involved in the project. The films will be used
for advocacy purposes, future funding applications, and raising awareness of the value of
creative health initiatives within the cultural sector.
The work will happen between late June and end of November 2025.
Background
CHWA is the national membership organisation for creative heath for England. (We use
‘creative health’ to mean any creative or cultural activity that supports health and/or
wellbeing.)
Working Together is a partnership project with GEM which has supported 6 museums from
across the UK to develop and embed creative health programmes within their organisations.
This contract offers an exciting opportunity to capture the diverse voices of stakeholders
involved in Working Together, enabling CHWA, GEM and the individual museums to showcase
the impact of this important work as the project comes to an end in September 2025.
You can read more about the programme here: Working Together Programme.
Deliverables
We are looking for a film maker who can work collaboratively with us to create 2 main
outputs:
- A 4-5 minute film = communicating the wider project evaluation learning themes
through the voices of those leading, facilitating and participating in Working
Together - 6 x 1-2 minute vox pops = 1 film for each of the 6 museum partners, editing footage
specific to individual projects - The films must meet (WCAG) AA access standards and be captioned.
- The films must be delivered in a high-res format as well as in a format that can be
uploaded to YouTube.
This will involve the following elements:
1. Research and Development including a briefing session with CHWA team prior to
filming. Key points from the programme evaluation will be shared with the film
maker.
2. Travel to York on July 3 and 4 to film interviews and footage from project
participants, museum staff, and other relevant stakeholders at end of project Meet-
Up event.
3. Travel to Leeds for GEM Annual Conference 10-12 September (1 day filming, date
tbc) to film footage of Working Together Museum Leads presenting at event
4. Edit footage to include organisation and funder logos, information text (as supplied
