This course explores the key skills needed to write strong applications and effectively communicate about your work to successfully achieve funding from Trusts and Foundations. As we see increased competition in fundraising from Trusts and Foundations, there has never been a more important time to learn how to communicate your story to funders and stand out from the crowd.

Led by Course Director Pete Brown, the GEM Foundation Course on Museum Learning virtually explores a variety of topics relating to learning in museums, heritage and cultural settings, from access and inclusion to interpretation, from management to evaluation, interrogating different ideas and approaches to help you develop your skills and understanding.

This course focuses on the key principles of fundraising as an artist, raising money for your own work. The skills to raise money to develop your own artistic practice are vital to be able to continue to make new work and seize opportunities in the current climate.
